Sue
Milburn
Artist Profile:
I was born in Liverpool, 1973. After completing my foundation, I
went on to graduate from University of Humberside, before returning
to study at Liverpool University and Liverpool John Moores University.
I have spent the past ten years gaining experience as a practicing
Artist, Photographer and curating/organising many exhibitions, both
solo and group for Drawlab, Creative LETS, Liverpool Biennial and
our new venture Red Dot Exhibitions, at venues across the north
of England some of which include, The View Galleries, Jump Ship
Rat, The Atkinson Art Gallery, Kirby and Huyton Galleries, Blundell
Street Gallery, The Citadel, Gallery Azure, World of Glass Museum,
The Atrium, The Walker Art Gallery, and last year venturing abroad
to the VHS Gallery in Cologne.
Recently I have exhibited in the "Ours For Keeps' show at
JMU School of Art & Design, Hope Street, Liverpool and Red Dot
group exhibition 'Spellbound' at the same venue. Also the group
show 'Pride of Liverpool' at Met Art Gallery off Castle Street,
Liverpool and 'Shadowtime' with Colin Serjent at the Ikonography
Gallery in Mathew Street, Liverpool.
It’s hard to pin point my style or influences as my media
is so broad but in general I strive to capture the viewer and brighten
their life via the exploration of colour and form, producing evocative
and expressive abstract and abstracted imagery, sea scapes, land
scapes, formal experimentation and visual metaphors.
